Hair loss is a common problem among women. It's not only women who are older, have permed hair, or wear weave that experience hair loss, any woman can. According to American Hair Loss Association , hair loss can be caused by traumatic situations such as child birth, malnutrition, severe infection, or extreme stress. Is your hair permed or natural, or for any other reason you are experiencing thin edges, breakage around your edges or just the front, or going bald? These tips might be helpful in regrowing those damages edges.
Leave Your Edges Alone
No hard brushes, no edge control, no gels, or any other product that is not meant to help it grow. This process has helped some of my clients revive their edges.
Wearing Tight Wig Cap
This is a major issue and i have seen this destroy some ladies edges. Although wigs are easy and are simple ways to go, but the tight wig caps can damage your edges. If you're looking to regrowing your edges, stay away from such. Even if you have or want to wear it, wear ones that are not so tight so your scalp can breath.
Hair Glue and Adhesives
This is another major bombshell in damaging hair. If you're trying to regrow a damaged edge, this is a no no. Do not allow any hairstylist talk you into using these no matter how nice the hair will turnout.
Tight Hairstyles
There are some hairstyles that can help damage your edges even more, e.g tight cornrows and braids. If you're in the process of regrowing damaged edges, these hairstyles won't help.
Furthermore:
Applying oil treatments on those damaged areas can help re-grow those areas, and use healthy or natural products on those areas.
Apply vitamin E to the damaged areas. According to Livestrong , this process will help reduce inflammation and repair damage to the follicles, and heathy follicles encourages hair growth.
However, in extreme hair loss cases, consult a physician.
